Rules
In order to sustain the fishing in Ballycastle’s rivers it is important that all fishermen abide by the following rules.
Thank you.
Ballycastle & District Angling Club Rules
Ballycastle and District Angling Club aims to secure a sustainable future for salmon and sea trout in our local rivers and appreciates your support in this challenging aim. The club encourages catch and release for migratory fish and strongly discourages the sale of any fish caught on club waters. Please be considerate to other anglers and don’t spend excessive time in one place when there are other anglers waiting to fish. Club rules are simple, but will be enforced.
All club members and visitors must observe the following club rules regulating the Carey, Glenshesk and Margy rivers
- 1. Fishing Season
1st March to 31st October.
- Permits/Licences/Tags

produced on request by a club bailiff on production of their authority card. Permit holders must allow club bailiffs to inspect permits, licences and tags.
