The Tow
The Tow ( or the The Taise, named after the Celtic Godess Taisie) is a short small river that rises near Knocklayde.
The river Tow flows through Ballycastle and has been overlooked as a stream for salmon and sea trout and has on ocassion been polluted. Over the years there have been stories of big salmon captured and seen on this wee river. The Tow (Taise) is the smallest of the Ballycastle rivers but could none the less provide an excellent habitat for salmon and sea trout parr and the returning adults.
